Holdout Update: Deion Branch

Holdout wide receiver Deion Branch broke his silence in an interview with Ch. 4’s Steve Burton last night, saying he’s “pretty sure everything will work out” between himself and the Patriots. “I’ve got a great feeling that we’re both going to do what’s right,” Branch said. “We’re going to make sure everything works out.” Burton caught up with Branch at the TD Banknorth Garden, where he was a celebrity coach for the AND1 Mixtape basketball tour. Wearing a Bill Russell Celtics jersey and flashing his trademark smile, Branch said the holdout has been tough, but he stands by his decision. “I have days,” he said. “I’m human. I have my ups and downs. At the same time, I understand this is a business and I understand what they’re doing. They also understand what I’m doing.” Branch talks to quarterback Tom Brady daily and also keeps in touch with Daniel Graham, Benjamin Watson, Rodney Harrison, Troy Brown and Richard Seymour. ... Branch said he’s working out daily and just completed his own two-a-days. He refused to address the issue of not wanting to be franchised next season, a sticking point in the negotiations. Brown reiterated that he’s hopeful of returning but stopped short of guaranteeing it. “They’re going to do what’s best for the team,” Branch said. “I’ll do what’s best for me.”
