Cards O-Line Takes A Hit

Associated Press (AP)

The prospect of losing starting right tackle Oliver Ross for the next 2½ months is a major setback for the Arizona Cardinals' offensive line, already the major question mark for the team. Ross injured his right knee in practice on Wednesday, and the injury has been diagnosed as a probable torn meniscus, the same injury that sidelined Arizona wide receiver Anquan Boldin and cornerback Antrel Rolle for much of last season. "We should be concerned," coach Dennis Green said Thursday. "We don't want to lose a starting player at this particular time. If that happens, then we have to look to see how we can replenish it either with Fred Wakefield or Jeremy Bridges off our team or we'll have to go get one from somebody else's team."

Uh Oh, looks like trouble for concussion-prone Warner. That pocket's going to have more holes than a ... Not good news considering the high expectations the Cardinals are riding on going into the '06 season. The have the guns to make it to the playoffs, but not the armor. I think, those guys in the skyboxes in Arizona need to dig a little deeper and pick up a Lincoln Kennedy or another veteran tackle to fill this void before this becomes another lost season.

I think either way -- the word is out on the Cards and defenses are going to bring the heat, early. If they don't find a ways to get around the blitz, well...put in that order for your Leinart jersey -- oh, that's if he ever decides to sign a deal!
